Abstract

The English government implemented the policy of ( divide and rule ) inside the Indian society after the occupation so it encouraged to set up two separated and disputed societies . As a result of that , India was divided into two independent countries in 1947 – India and Pakistan . The idea of partition said that Muslim majority areas went to Pakistan state whereas the Hindu majority areas went to Indian state . The divition was complicated because it based on religious ground and it neglected the balance of manpower , economic power and strategic power . Because the division was unfair , an opposite immigration happened between the two countries and a lot of Massacres happened too . Then many problems appeared and caused bloody wars . One of these problems was the Indian state problem . The Partition resolution gave a freedom to the Indian states to be independent or to join with India or Pakistan taking into account the geographical situation and the wishes of people but the application of that had got some serious exceptions . For example . the annexation of Kashmir to India was a legal order however the annexation of jonakda and Hayder – Abad to Pakistan was illegal . In both cases the rulers were different from the people in religion and because of these problems , the two countries entered in bloody wars .
