Abstract

This study deals with sheikh Abdul-Qadir Al- Nahri’s life which is regarded a political life as a whole since the available sources about this character have only focused on his political role and have rarely tackled his social life. sheikh Abdul-Qadir Al- Nahri is regarded as one of the first generation of the Kurdish nationalists who were the pioneers of the modern concept of Kurdish nationalism at the end of the nineteenth century and the end of the twentieth century. In order to point out the significance and role of this character in the modern Kurdish history it is enough to state that he was the president of the first political national Kurdish party called the Kurdish association of (Al- Taawin wa Al- Tareqi) which was established in Istanbul in 1908. Moreover , being the president of the association of (Al- Taali Kurdistan) which was established in Istanbul after the first world war, sheikh Abdul-Qadir had sent two messages to the peace conference held at Paris in 1919 concerning the national rights of the Kurdish people.
