The research sample consisted of the (280) male and female students from two colleges at the University of Duhok. There were (135) male and female students from the College of Science and (145) male and female students from College of Administration and Economics. Therefore, in order to achieve the research goal, the researcher prepared a special tool to apply the extent of the need for scientific knowledge. It consisted of (32) paragraphs in its final form. The researcher used Pearson correlation, Parameter, Arithmetic mean, Standard deviation, (z-test) to reach the following:

1- The percentage of questionnaire items for students’ need for scientific knowledge at the College of Science was (61.93%) for male students and (64.23%) to their female peers, which considered to be an average rate.

2- The percentage of questionnaire items for students’ need for scientific knowledge at the of Administration and Economics was (59.2%) for male students and (61.82%) to their female peers, which considered to be an average rate.

3- There were no significant differences, statistically, between the two degrees of point of views for the research participants in both Colleges (Science, Administration and Economics) regarding the need for scientific knowledge.

4- There were no significant differences, statistically, between the two degrees of point of view for male participants in both Colleges (Science, Administration and Economics) on the need for scientific knowledge.

5- There were no significant differences, statistically, between the two degrees of point of view for female participants in both colleges (Science, Administration and Economics) on the need for scientific knowledge.

}, number={2}, journal={Humanities Journal of University of Zakho}, author={Sediq, Siyar}, year={2021}, month={Jun.}, pages={277–293} }
